Eduardo Corti CV (english version)

· Being in touch with music since his early childhood, especially percussion, Eduardo Corti Navas has completed courses in many nacional and internacional institutions. For instance, He has taken part in the “Taller Uruguayo de Música Popular” (related to Folk Music) in Montevideo, attended percussion courses such as the ones given by Edu Lombardo and drums by Gustavo Echenique. He has also completed training in playing flute and musical theory by Estela Garmendía in Paysandú.

· He has been performing concerts for many years over national and international scenarios, especially invited from Paraguay, Brasil, Argentina and Central America. He also attended numerous conferences, being remarkable the ones with the cuban master of percussion Sergio Tulbovitz and the brazilian Nicolas Arnicho.

· He took part in musical workshops in Costa Rica, oriented by Ramsés Araya y Alejandro Vargas (Ruben Blades’ company) Last year he participated as special guest and lecturer in the “Bienal Internacional de Recreación” organized by “La Mancha” Institute from Montevideo (etnic music) along with the sonorous investigation group “Guidai”, which He joined 5 years ago. He also participated in the “Séptimo Encuentro de la Canción Infantil Latinoamericana y del Caribe”, in Montevideo and Piriápolis (sept-oct 2005) with the band “Agua Clara & Cia” (children songs). He also atended the “8º Encuentro de la Canción Infantil de Latinoamérica” in Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, Chile (oct-2007). More recently, He attended the "9º Encuentro Iberoamericano y del Caribe de la Música Infantil" in Mexico D.F. (October 2009)

· Since many years ago, He has been working as a supporting musician of remarkable singers, such as Omar Romano (for over 8 years), Juan José de Mello, “Tantoman”, “Guidai” (Charrúa voice for Moon or Moonlight), “Agua Clara & Cia” (children music), “Owerawa” (instrumental and new age music).

· He has taken part, as a musical manager on stage in many literary pieces. He’s now working on a play made by the local writer Jesuita Sánchez, along with the artist and teacher Rosario Caamaño and the poet Zelmar García: “Jalana-Fiesta”. He has also worked with the writer and historical investigator Nelson Caula, and now they are undergoing a documentary Project called “13.500”, which was released in february 2009 in Punta del Este, Uruguay. This film has been awarded on the "Cine del Mar" festival, as well as it was presented in Paysandú, Uruguay, during the city's anniversary.

· Until now, he has performed many recording productions: “De parte de este Cantor”, with the Golden Disc winner in Uruguay, Omar Romano; “Bienvenido Vaimaca” with Guidai (along with the historical investigator and writer Nelson Caula); “La Ronda Catonga”, “Armando la Ronda” and “Te invito” (last year) with “Agua Clara & Cia”; “Uruguayos Macanudos” with the Folk group Tantoman (whose national tour is undergoing nowadays) and “15 años de andar cantando”, recently edited, in December 2008.

· At present time, He is working on a new production as member of “Owerawa” (instrumental and new age music), along with the remarkable local musician Diego Insúa (pianist). After the first presentation success, the show called Ouroboros, during the 41ª Semana de la Cerveza, the band is looking forward to starting a new national tour.

· Héctor Eduardo Corti is also a teacher and lecturer. He has been working in many local institutions since 10 years ago, not only with preschoolers but also Primary students, and teaches drums and percussion at any level.
